The Little Man Cometh

After all my plans for a natural childbirth with a midwife and lots of support, it turns out that Little Mister Maupin has plans of his own...and sadly he wins out. The little guy has been breech (upside down- or really right side up if you think about it) for quite a while now and apparently has no desire to flip over at this late stage in the game. So, I am now officially a scheduled cesarean section and we will be welcoming our son into the world Monday, Sept 1st. Yep, Labor Day with no laboring required. We are scheduled for Monday at noon, so please take a moment on your day off to stop and sing a boisterous round of Happy Birthday at lunch time! Jona will be in charge of posting pictures and hopefully will get some out Monday afternoon or evening so we can show off our newest addition....oh, and Mickey Mouse too who will be born the same day :)

This weekend was our baby shower thrown by my wonderful friends at work. When I say "our baby shower," I certainly do not mean a party thrown for me and Jona. Nor do I mean to insinuate that the party was for all of the Maupin family. Instead, this party was planned and executed all for Hailey and her impending delivery of Mickey Mouse, with a little love for mommy thrown in for good measure. We had a fabulous time and all of us, daddy included, were spoiled absolutely rotten.

Auntie Kristy drove over from NC for the party and spent the weekend with us. On Sunday we had a picnic at the park before she had to make the long ride home.
